SG-Hub and Car Charger Manual

Car Charger Package manual version 1.3

Installation should be done by a qualified installer.

Follow the guidlines regarding electrical installations the your country.

To install the system, you’ll need:
• SG-Hub (see its manual about network and energy planner)
• RS-485 cable for connection between car charger and SG-Hub
• Power Dot Eco+ car charger (3 phase) with type 2 charging cable
• Power cord, to be installed by the installer

Thise manual describes the installation of the car charger:
Brand : ENTRATEC
Type-name : Power Dot Eco+
Type no : AC011K-AE-35 (3-phase, 11KW met 7 meters fixed charging cable.)

1) Mounting the car charger.
Follow the instructions published by manufacturer ‘ENTRATEC’. The charger may be mounted indoors or outdoors.
Among other, there is a description on how to open the casing, for which a special tool is included in the package. The casing has to be opened to reach the drilling holes. A drilling template is included to make it easy to determine the position of the drill holes for the wall plugs.

2) Power connection (=grid connection) for the EV charger.
The charger must be connected to a dedicated 3-phase circuit in the distribution board (fuse box). This means the circuit must be used exclusively for the EV charger. The circuit must have a capacity of 3x16A and be protected in the distribution board by a 16A circuit breaker with a B-type characteristic.

The EV charger is connected from the distribution board using:
Phase 1/L1 (brown) + Phase 2/L2 (black) + Phase 3/L3 (gray) + Neutral/N (blue) + Earth/PE (yellow/green).

The minimum conductor cross-section is 2.5 mm². (For cable lengths exceeding 10 m, 4 mm² is recommended.)

– Use a 5x 2.5 mm² cable for cables without an earth shield (using the 2.5 mm² yellow/green conductor as the earth).

– Use a 4x 2.5 mm² cable for cables with an earth shield (so-called underground cables). Use the earthing braid/wire—the tinned copper wire in contact with the shielding mesh—as the earth or protective conductor (PE). Ensure the earth wire (braid/wire) is covered with an insulating sheath.

3) The charging cable to the vehicle
This EV-charger type has a fixed charging cable with a length of 7 meters.

4) The RS-485 connection
These connection is covered in detail in the SG-Hub manual.
The EV-charger used only the ‘A’ and ‘B’ connectors for RS-485.
For short distances (<5m) two simple wire can be used. For longer distances (<30m) the best option is using a twisted-pair cable. An economical option is using a standard network Cat5 cable. SG-Hub RS-485 The SG-Hub has the following RS-485 connectors: • Green: RS-485 B • Yellow: RS-485 A

Connect the RS-485 cable to the SG-Hub connectors.
Then connect the cables to the EV-charger as described below.

EV-Charger RS-485
Connect the RS-485 cable to the EV-charger:
The car charger has a green 6-pin screw-terminal connector.
The whit sticker shows the names of the connectors.
From left to right: RS-485 A, RS-485 B, not used, not used, CT-, CT+.

Connect EV-charger RS-485 A to Ecosoft device connector RS-485 A.
Connect EV-charger RS-485 B to Ecosoft device connector RS-485 B.
